First United Methodist Church partners with Compass North Program

ALPENA — The First United Methodist Church of Alpena is now a partner with the Compass North Program at Child & Family Services of Northeast Michigan (CFSNEMI). Reverend Susan Platt and Mission Chair, Amanda Bacon delivered personal care items to Compass North Case Manager Rhianna Compton and Meg Nisbet, Development Director for CFSNEMI, to be distributed to youth that receive services through Compass North.

“We are so glad to be partnering with Compass North and supporting this program,” said Platt.

Compass North Youth Services and Crisis Intervention Programs offer several alternatives for youth and their families. It is able to work with runaway, homeless, street youth; youth at risk of any of these; substance use/abuse prevention counseling; suicide prevention work; and community based training options.

All services are free and confidential and include: Crisis Intervention/Assessment; Counseling/case management; Short Term/Long Term shelter or host home options; Social, Educational and Support Services; Community Based Education and Resource Assistance; Professional Consultations. All programming is designed to improve Safety, Well Being, Self Sufficiency and Permanent Connections for the youth and families we serve.

Compass North services are available for youth in Alpena, Alcona, Iosco and Montmorency. Meg Nisbet, Development Director with CFSNEMI said, “We are so grateful for the opportunity to partner with First United Methodist Church and look forward to networking with them with these programs”.
