COVID-19 vaccine clinics quick, easy, well-run

Much gratitude to the staff of District Health Department No. 4, local National Guardsmen, local law enforcement, and other agencies collaborating in COVID-19 vaccine clinics in Northeast Michigan.

The one I attended in January at Alpena Community College was staffed by cheerful, helpful, courteous people who that day were moving 940 residents through a process so smooth it might have made Disney World jealous.

Nevermind that health departments have organized these clinics on the fly in fast-changing emergency circumstances; they’ve got this program up and running.

The difficult part may be getting an appointment for one of these clinics, limited by phone line access and online reservation glitches, but once you’ve landed a clinic spot, it’s a quick, easy, well-run process.

So keep trying; it’s worth the effort.

BETTY WESTROPE,

Alpena
