Lenny Avery

On Martin Luther King Day Monday, there will be an afternoon presentation on the Letter from the Birmingham Jail at 2 p.m. by Rev. Lenny Avery in the Granum Theater at the Alpena Community College from 4:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m.

There will also be a chili supper fundraiser at Lumberjack Shack at ACC to support the Loads of Love laundromat for coupons distributed by social service agencies. The evening program at 6 p.m. will be on Being the Change Leaders/Heroes We Have Been Waiting For by Sandra Pilgrim-Lewis. The program is about engaging others across differences and it will be held in the Besser Technical Center commons. These programs are free, open to the public, and made possible by the MLK Committee of Northeast Michigan.
