Protesters are Michigan, are not racists

The Monday, May 4, 2020 edition of The Alpena News had a front page article titled “Guv says ‘racism’ fueled virus protests” referring to Whitmer’s CNN appearance the previous day. She says “that’s not who we are”.

No, I agree, we aren’t that. They, the protesters, are who we are. We don’t pull out the race card when we can’t stand on our own. We’re against police standing at the door of a greenhouse (Grand Haven) and telling you if you can enter or not; we’re against Battle Creek and Kalamazoo police deploying Chinese made drones to keep us in our place; we’re against politicians saying we can’t go out in a boat; we’re against politicians saying people can’t run lawn care businesses; we’re against politicians telling us what we can buy, what we can’t, and when.

The swastikas at the march represent what we see our governments and governors increasingly becoming. The Confederate battle flags don’t represent racism, they represent revolt against repression, just as they did in 1862. The Dems never hesitate to use the words racist, racism, xenophobia, fascist, fascism, hate, extremism, and the like, but when they act the part and are called out for it they act indignant. One thing you don’t see at these protests is violence. Violence occurs at nearly every liberal/progressive demonstration, but Whitmer and her ilk are always silent about that.
