Alcona softball takes two wins on Thursday
Alcona High School softball takes two wins on Thursday against AuGres.
In game one, the Tigers took a 13-0 win.
Miah Schopfer was on the mound and threw a no-hitter. She pitched five innings, striking out six, and walking two.
Offensively, Addison Beatty and Claire Somers added two singles. Sage Gauthier and Jena Wambold tallied a single and double. Olivia Borchardt, Baylee Goddard, and Schopfer all added singles.
Game two ended with Alcona taking the 14-2 win.
Schopfer stayed on the mound, pitching six innings, striking out six, walking one, and giving up two hits.
Borchardt went three for three offensively. Beatty added a single and triple. Schopfer added a single and double. Goddard, Wambold, Somers, and Renchenski all added singles.
“Overall, it was a great night,” Alcona coach Chelsea Neuenfeldt said. “We had some big improvements defensively and our communication was spot on.”
