Gratitude for APS

Attending APS has been one of the most meaningful experiences of my education. The teachers and staff created an environment where I felt supported, challenged, and encouraged to grow both academically and personally. They consistently believed in my potential and pushed me to work harder while also making learning engaging and relevant.

My most valuable experience has been being a part of the Early College program. Without this amazing opportunity presented by APS and ACC, I wouldn’t be graduating from ACC with an Associates Degree just one year after graduating from Alpena High School. Because of this program, I will be attending CMU this fall as a junior in credits, saving me thousands of dollars.

Beyond academics, APS gave me opportunities to develop leadership, communication, and teamwork skills. Participating in school activities, like NHS and Student Council, and collaborating with classmates helped prepare me for challenges beyond the classroom. APS has taught me how to collaborate, think critically, and excel academically and socially.

Today, I continue to apply the lessons and values I gained from APS in my education and personal goals. The strong academic foundation and encouragement I received have helped me pursue new opportunities with confidence and determination. I am grateful for the positive influence APS had on my life and for the educators who helped shape the person I am today.
