ALPENA — District Health Department No. 2 announced one new COVID-19 infection of an Alcona County resident on Friday.

There were no other changes in the totals of confirmed infections, recoveries, or deaths in Northeast Michigan.

Now 26 Alcona County residents have been infected since the pandemic hit Michigan in mid-March, two of whom have died 20 of whom have recovered.

Local health departments have reported 116 infected Alpena County residents, 14 of whom have died, 19 infected Presque Isle residents, one of whom have died, and 10 infected Montmorency County residents.
