Police are reminding residents to lock their car doors after a man was arrested in the early morning hours after he was caught trying to get into vehicles on Alpena’s north side.

The suspect, a 40-year-old with an Alpena address, was peering into vehicles and pulling on door handles near Long Lake Avenue and Adams Street about 1:15 a.m. on Wednesday when he was reported to the Alpena Police Department, who found and arrested him with the assistance of Michigan State Police, police said.
