Carly Powers named to honor roll

Carly Powers of Hillman was recently named to the Winter 2019 Honor Roll at Spokane Falls Community College in Spokane, Wash.

The college lists 1,818 students on its honor roll for the winter quarter, which ended in March. The majority of the those students — 1,194 — made the President’s Honor Roll with a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher, and another 624 students made the Vice President’s Honor Roll with a 3.0 or higher GPA.

Denstaedt works on “Photograph 51”

Isabelle Denstaedt of Alpena acted as assistant technical director in a recent production of “Photograph 51” at Webster University in St. Louis, Mo.

She and other students from the Conservatory of Theatre Arts at Webster University designed, constructed and performed the play, by Anna Ziegler. The play centers around Rosalind Franklin, one of the great female scientists of the twentieth century, and her fervid drive to map the contours of the DNA molecule.
