Share a smile, a cookie, a prayer
Senior Attitudes
I expect an ugly year culminating in a chaotic and potentially violent presidential election in November.
My political beliefs are still stuck in the ’60s. I still believe in peace and love. I do still believe if everyone puts aside personal anger and greed, this country could be a leader in peaceful habitation. We have a constitution that states equality for every man. Do we believe it, or do we worry that those who are different have an unfair advantage?
I watch my birds fighting over the seeds, and I wonder if human being are much different. Have we evolved?
I find peace in watching the birds fly into the trees that I still hug. Try it! Hug one side of a tree, move to the other side and hug again. You will laugh at the differences. When I’m looking at the trees, who are trying to bloom, I know I must try to bloom, as well. I must share my belief in peace and love. I invite you all to share a smile, a cookie, a prayer. You and the recipient will both feel peace and love.
