ALPENA — Delta Kappa Gamma’s Alpha Xi chapter recently recognized The Boys and Girls Club of Alpena as their Friend of Education 2024 award winner which was presented on March 12.

This award is presented annually to an individual or group in the community who has given outstanding support to education and educators.

The Boys and Girls Club of Alpena believes in supporting our youth as individuals and young leaders. They instill such confidence in these kids, helping them learn how they can give back to the community.

Locally, they serve over 1,450 youth annually, and their average daily attendance is 145 youth per day between their two sites.

The Boys and Girls Club is appreciated for their ongoing presence in the community in support of education.
