March events planned at Alcona County Library

HARRISVILLE — The Alcona County Library has announced March events taking place throughout the month. Call 989-724-6796 for more information on any of these programs.

Monday

It’s International Women’s Day! Women are invited to celebrate their day at the Alcona County Library in Harrisville by picking up a plant of their choice.

The Teen DIY Rainbow Lollipop Kit for ages 12-18 will be available at the Alcona County Library in Harrisville. Students may also pick up kits in the office of the Alcona High School. Available while supplies last.

Thursday

Community Walking Club for Everyone will meet in the parking lot of the Harrisville branch of the Alcona County Library at 9 a.m. every Thursday. Social distancing will be practiced and face masks will be required.

Tuesday, March 16

The Alcona Book Club will meet at the Harrisville branch of the Alcona County Library from noon to 1 p.m. The selection for March is “The Storied Life of A. J. Fikry” by Gabrielle Zevin.

Knitting Klub & Crochet is at the Harrisville branch of the Alcona County Library, from 1:15 to 3:15 p.m. All levels are welcome.

Monday, March 22

Craftomania for Adults will be at the Harrisville branch of the Alcona County Library from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The project for March is Ukrainian Easter Egg decorating. There is a $10 charge. Seating is limited, so call 989-724-6796 to register.

Wednesday, March 24

The Alcona County Library Board will meet at 2 p.m. in person at the Harrisville branch, via Zoom, and on Facebook Live. The link will be posted on the library’s website at www.alcona.lib.mi.us and Facebook page at www.facebook.com/AlconaLibrary.

Wednesday, March 31

An Artists’ Reception for the Northeast Michigan Artists’ Guild will be held at 1:30 p.m. at the Harrisville branch of the Alcona County Library. Social distancing will be practiced and face masks will be required. Refreshments will be provided by Friends of the Library. Art will be on display until Wednesday, April 28.
