The Presque Isle Turkey Trackers Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) recently donated $500 to the Presque Isle Food Pantry (Beth Getzinger) and $500 to God Loves You Food Pantry located in the Grand Lake area (Dawn Barrett). Checks were presented by Lisa Ataman, secretary/treasurer, on behalf of the chapter. This is part of the NWTF’s Turkey Hunters Care outreach program supporting local communities to aid needy families.

The Presque Isle Turkey Trackers Chapter also provides free turkeys for the holidays to needy families selected by the Presque Isle Department of Health and Human Services. To date, more than 175 turkeys have been given since the area Chapter began.

Funds for these donations are raised at the Chapter’s annual Hunting Heritage and Scholarship Banquet. The next banquet will be Feb. 29, 2020, at the Posen Community Center. The public is invited to attend for a fun-filled family evening with an excellent meal, free beverages, live and silent auctions, and games for both adults and children.
