Alpena has set the first bagged lawn material and brush pickup for the 2024 season for May 6 through May 10. Pickup will last all five weekdays and there are no assigned sections by weekday. Crew members will start where they left off previously.

The Public Works Service Center, located at 1001 Long Lake Avenue, is open daily, Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. for drop-off of lawn materials for city residents only. It will also be open on Saturdays and Sundays starting May 11 through Oct. 13 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
