The April 8 eclipse will be worth some travel

A solar eclipse will occur over the United States on Monday, April 8. While most Americans will get to see a partial eclipse without needing to go farther than their own front yard, only those within the narrow “path of totality” will experience the full, spectacular show. People in Alpena will see the moon slowly cover 90% of the afternoon sun. Judges show us their biases on immigration

Dear editor: I think our forefathers goofed when they made federal judges the right to rule. As you know they are appointed and not elected! The ambiguity and biased rulings of some is disgraceful like this recent ruling on the border. About 10 years ago, a California proposal was passed overwhelmingly by the voters that no tax money of any kind shall be spent on illegal aliens. A federal judge ruled that proposal unconstitutional because the Constitution states that only the federal government shall decide on immigration. Schools must fix canceled bus routes quick

Today, Feb.13, 2024, bus 16-C, the elephant, has been canceled from making its a.m. and p.m. routes for both elementary and secondary students. This is the second day in a row that this has happened. Last Friday, Feb. 9, 2024, the bus made its morning runs for elementary and secondary students. Later in the morning, I received a call from the school, letting me know that the bus would not be making its p.m. runs, leaving the students that it took to school in the morning at school, leaving parents to scramble on ways to get their kids home.
