The oldest of six children, Harold was born in Duncan, Oklahoma on March 15, 1938, to the late Harold and Doretta Levy. He served in the United States Army as a pilot. Upon his honorable discharge he worked as a commercial pilot for US Airways, in Pittsburgh, Charlotte, North Carolina and later back home in Texas.
