HAROLD CLINTON LEVY JR

March 15, 1938 – July 15, 2023

Harold Clinton Levy, Jr., 85, of Presque Isle passed away, Saturday, July 15, 2023, at his home.

The oldest of six children, Harold was born in Duncan, Oklahoma on March 15, 1938, to the late Harold and Doretta Levy. He served in the United States Army as a pilot. Upon his honorable discharge he worked as a commercial pilot for US Airways, in Pittsburgh, Charlotte, North Carolina and later back home in Texas. Following the events of Sept. 11, 2001, Harold got the call to return to the government working for the Federal Aviation Administration, living in Alaska. He met and married Judith Deutch. They visited and fell in love with Uruguay, the country and its people. He took his second retirement to move to South America where he could use his amazing handle of fine Spanish and bought a small farm outside of Montevideo, Uruguay. Later they returned to the United States, first in Florida, later returning to work in Alaska and retiring in Presque Isle.

Surviving are his wife, Judith; two daughters; step-son, Edward (Lorraine) VonTista; two grandchildren, Santi, Veda Sol; four siblings, Oscar (Bea) Levy, Thomas (Debra) Wilkins, Curt Wilkins, Adelia Ingram; sister-in-law, Judy Levy; several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Levy was preceded in death by a daughter; and a brother, William Levy.

Visitation will take place at the Bannan Funeral Home on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12 noon with Rabbi Maya Leibovich officiating. Military honors by VFW Alpena Post 2496 will follow at the Hebrew Cemetery.

Interment: Hebrew Cemetery

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Temple Beth-El.
