Free coronavirus testing will be offered in Alpena on Friday, thanks to the Michigan National Guard and District Health Department No. 4.
The free, drive-thru testing will be available 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Besser Elementary School and is open to all Michigan residents.
No appointment is needed to receive testing, which will be conducted by medically-trained members of the National Guard. No doctor’s referral is required for testing, and those tested do not need to show symptoms of COVID-19, the sickness caused by the coronavirus.
