ALPENA — A former Alpena County Fair Board treasurer previously charged with embezzlement was arrested again on Wednesday, accused of possessing nude photos and child sexually abusive material, the Alpena County Sheriff’s Office reported.

Bradley Alan Avery, 37, who in July was sentenced to six months in jail after he admitted to stealing money during his tenure as Fair Board treasurer in the summer of 2018, was arrested Wednesday on one count of possession of child sexually abusive material, three counts of capturing or distributing a photo of an unclothed person, and one count of using computers to commit a crime.

Avery, who has not yet been arraigned on the newest charges in the 88th District Court, was booked at the Alpena County Jail, where he posted bond and was released.

Initially arrested shortly after the 2018 Alpena County Fair, Avery pleaded guilty in May 2019 to misappropriating funds for personal use from the Alpena Agricultural Society and illegally moving Future Farmers of America funds while he was County Fair treasurer.

In July, having paid $16,643 in restitution, he was sentenced to six months in jail and a year’s probation for the theft.
