HILLMAN – The Hillman High School Class of 2026 officially graduated on Thursday, marking the end of their high school journey for 38 students, with a traditional ceremony filled with music and reflection.
The Class of 2026 selected Gretchen Weiland as senior class president. She also delivered the Valedictorian address. Easton Hunt was honored as Salutatorian, Dylan Hively served as vice president, Hailey Burr as secretary, and Evan Crane as treasurer. Addison Bennett and Aubrie Klein represented the class on the student council.
The class chose white hydrangeas as their flower, periwinkle and dusty blue as their colors, and Jason Aldean’s “Tattoos on This Town” as their class song. Their motto, drawn from Green Day, captured the spirit of the occasion: “It’s something unpredictable, but in the end is right. I hope you had the time of your life.”
The ceremony began with the processional “Pomp and Circumstance,” performed by the Hillman Jr./Sr. High Band under conductor Ben Witter. The National Anthem followed, led by Kylie Hickey.
Jenna Bahrke and Bennett welcomed guests. Hively introduced the speaker, Chelsey Stafford, who delivered the commencement address. She thanked her friends, family, teachers, and community members for their support. Kendall Gruschke and Hickey gave the parent tribute.
Dr. Pamela Rader, superintendent, addressed the graduates, and Roxanna LaFleche-Taurianinen accepted them on behalf of the school board. Kayla Nichols presented the graduates and diplomas, while Carrie Sobeck handled the class roll call and closing remarks. The event also featured a class of 2026 slide show and musical performances, including “Amparito Roca” by the band.
In the program, the class of 2026 expressed deep gratitude to the Hillman Community School staff, band, and maintenance crew, as well as their family and friends:
“We would also like to thank our families and friends for your endless love, encouragement, and support. We could not have reached this milestone without you standing beside us every step of the way.”
Congratulations to the entire Hillman High School Class of 2026 as they prepare to step into the next chapter of their lives.
