Atop the salt pile

A bulldozer levels off the top of the large salt pile in Alpena on Monday. The salt is being stored until winter . Although it is unlikely the Alpena area will need salt on the roads anytime soon, overnight temperatures are expected to remain cool and drop into the mid- to high-40s for the next several days.
