ALPENA – Today, the City of Alpena’s contractor, MacArthur Construction, will begin the reconstruction of Taylor Street, between Long Lake Avenue and Spratt Street.

This section will be closed to all traffic. Access to driveways will be limited and residents will have to park on side streets for extended periods.

Signage and barricades will be present to guide traffic around the construction site, but motorists are advised to seek alternate routes.

This project is expected to take eight weeks to complete unless weather or construction delays occur.

This work is being funded through the Alpena Water and Sewer Fund for a total project cost of $1,526,867.
