ALPENA – Concrete does float.

The Alpena Community College Concrete Technology students are preparing to wrap up their spring semester this year by building and racing concrete canoes.This remarkable project utilizes all of the learning the concrete tech students have amassed during their time in the program and gives the students a fun and real-world opportunity to put it to the test.

ACC will be launching and racing its concrete canoes beginning at 10 a.m. on Wednesday in the pond in front of the Northern Lights Arena on Woodward Street.

The public is invited to attend the event and watch the concrete canoes race across the pond.
