March 16

10:27 a.m. A business in Atlanta called to report someone plowing their driveway without permission. They requested an officer to the scene to ask the subject to stop plowing. A deputy responded to the scene and spoke with the subject.

11:22 a.m. An abandoned vehicle on the side of the road in Hillman Township was reported by the road commission as a road hazard. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

11:31 a.m. Albert Township Fire and EMS responded to a vehicle on fire in Albert Township. No injuries were reported.

7:24 p.m. An assault was reported at a business in Briley Township. Deputies responded to speak with the victim; the suspect had left prior to law enforcement’s arrival. An investigation is still ongoing.

8:49 p.m. Deputies responded to a report on a domestic dispute in Hillman Township. Both parties were separated for the night.

10:38 p.m. A resident in Hillman reported a vehicle following her that was involved with a previous complaint. The subject was found and a traffic stop was conducted. Deputies arrested the male for OWI; he was transported to be lodged at Alpena County Jail.

March 17

9:44 a.m. Multiple 911 calls reported a male driver that hit multiple cars then came to a stop on a snowbank in the Village of Hillman. Law enforcement and EMS responded to the scene. The driver was transported to the hospital, and a report was taken for the damage to vehicles.

11:33 a.m. Alpena County requested Hillman Fire for a chimney fire on Gamage Rd. The fire was put out and no injuries were reported.

11:01 p.m. Hillman Fire Department responded to a residence in Hillman Township after a reported smell of a possible electric fire. Firefighters on scene were able to identify the issue.

March 18

7:07 a.m. A deputy dispatched an injured deer in Hillman Twp.

10:15 a.m. a deputy initiated a Traffic Stop in Avery Twp. The driver was issued a citation for driving on a revoked license.

3:38 p.m. Dispatch received a request to do a welfare check in the Village of Hillman. A deputy was dispatched and the subject was fine.

7:30 p.m. A barking dog is reported in the village of Hillman. A deputy responded but was unable to locate the dog.

March 19

1:39 a.m. A vehicle/deer is reported in Avery Township. A deputy responded and a report was made.

4:43 p.m. A welfare check is requested in Vienna Township. After speaking on the phone with the subject, he is okay just in pain from a dentist’s visit.

7:36 p.m. A welfare check is requested in Vienna Township. A deputy responded and found nobody home. The subject then called the office and confirmed he is okay.

11:52 p.m. A deputy conducted a traffic stop in Albert Township. The driver had a revoked license. He was issued citations and provided a court date

March 20

2:30 a.m. A vehicle/deer accident is reported in Rust Township. A report was made.

8:00 a.m. Hillman EMS was requested in Alpena County for a personal injury crash.

11:25 a.m. A deer vehicle crash in Loud Township was reported to dispatch; airbags did deploy in the vehicle. An MCSO deputy along with Albert Township EMS responded to the scene.

6:00 p.m. A resident in Montmorency Township reported an injured deer after a chunk of snow fell on it. A deputy responded; the deer was okay.

7:56 p.m. A driver came across a dog who ran under their vehicle and would not move. The owner was found and was already en route to pick it up.

9:32 p.m. An erratic driver was reported in Briley Township. A deputy was able to intercept the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop after witnessing violations. The driver was found not to have a valid driver’s license. The vehicle was towed and the driver was transported to a hotel after receiving multiple citations.

11:24 p.m. A vehicle/deer accident was reported in Rust Township; a report was taken.

March 21

12:04 p.m. Deputies responded to a residence in Albert Township after damage to property was reported at a local business. Deputies were able to speak with the suspect.

12:18 p.m. Albert Township and Vienna Fire Departments responded to a residence in Otsego County after mutual aid was requested.

4:55 p.m. A suspicious male acting erratically was reported in Briley Township. Deputies searched the area but were unable to find the male.

5:06 p.m. Dispatch received a report on breaking and entering. Deputies responded to the residence and were able to make contact with the reporting party. The report was unfounded.

7:54 p.m. A vehicle/deer accident was reported in Rust Township. The vehicle was undrivable and smoking. A deputy responded to the scene and took a report; Hillman Fire Department responded as a precaution.

8:09 p.m. A natural gas smell was reported at a business in Albert Township. The Albert Township Fire Department responded to the scene and found the source of the leak. DTE was notified.

March 22

7:51 a.m. A deer/vehicle crash was reported in Loud Township. A report was taken.

9:31 a.m. A welfare check was requested on a resident of Avery Township. A deputy responded to the residence to find the subject to be fine.

9:39 a.m. A deer/vehicle crash was reported in Loud Township. A report was taken, and a deputy responded to move the deer from the roadway.
