Rogers City Police Department to host first National Night Out event in August
ROGERS CITY – The Rogers City Police Department is set to host its first National Night Out event this year on August 4 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.. National Night Out is an annual event that started in 1984 and is celebrated across the country. It was created to bring law enforcement and citizens together to get to know their communities and learn about crime prevention.
The police department has partnered with Rogers City Main Street to plan a block party in Westminster Park that will included live music, free hot dogs and snacks, display of law enforcement vehicles and tables with varying crime prevention topics as well as a child fingerprinting and ID station.

In a press release on Monday, Police Chief Jamie Meyer said the department is committed to engaging with the community with proactive measures to strengthen its bond with citizens and partner to keep the city safe.
