The Alpena Lions Club hosted Montiel Birmingham, City of Alpena Director of Planning, Development and Zoning at their Tuesday luncheon. She provided information on various matters affecting the City of Alpena and the positive direction being taken.

The Alpena Lions welcomed her visit and invited her to return.

Lion Bernie Lamp III provided a recap of the KidSight Testing performed at the Farmers Market Save A Life Saturday event. The Alpena Lions screened 48 children for eyesight. A total of 7 referrals were made for children experiencing a deficiency. KidSight is a nationwide Lions program that brings Lions Clubs across the country together to ensure our children receive eye screenings and follow up care when needed.

The next KidSight screenings will take place September 17 at the Farmers Market and on October 8 and 9 at the Alpena Tractor Club.
