To help highlight the importance of community service during National Volunteer Month in April, Northeast Michigan Community Service Agency’s Retired and Senior Volunteer Program recently partnered with the Alpena Senior Citizens Center to do some spring cleaning in the garden. Staff and volunteers from both organizations as well as community members joined together to prepare the senior center’s raised garden beds for the upcoming planting season. The vegetables from the garden will be used to add a fresh healthy option to the daily meals at the center. Pictured from left are Emma Kroll, B.J.
