Hillman Small Engine raising money for scholarships

Veteran-owned Hillman Small Engine would like to give back to the community of Montmorency and Alpena counties by reaching out to the community for local donations and giving grants back to local students furthering their education after high school for the 2021 year and beyond.

Grants will consist of $500 awards to select students who complete the application by March 1 each year.

All students in 12th grade are eligible to apply.

Multiple awards may be awarded, pending the amount of donations received.

The owner is an active volunteer with the Hillman Veterans of Foreign Wars and Alpena Scouts of America. He is a 100% service-connected disabled veteran. His active community support has been recognized within the 4-H, NBA Hoops for Troops, American Legion, Scouts of America, and, most currently, Operation Face Shield (a registered state organization making face shields, with over 16,000 donated throughout Michigan and seven other states), as well as other nonprofits.

Donations can be delivered personally to the Hillman Small Engine shop, 22545 Pleasant Valley Road, Hillman, Michigan, 49746, or online at facebook.com/donate/693174854696173/.
