TEFAP, Alzheimer’s events in Posen Thurs.

TEFAP Quarterly Commodities will be distributed from 9 a.m. to noon at Posen Senior Center. Then from 3 to 4 p.m. Taylor Cramer of the Alzheimer’s Association will present Understanding Alzheimer’s and Dementia.

ARMC lab retirees to hold monthly luncheon

MidMichigan (ARMC) laboratory retirees will meet at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Hunan Chinese Restaurant for their monthly luncheon.

Thanksgiving feast on Thursday at senior center

Alpena Senior Citizens Center will hold its annual Thanksgiving Feast on Thursday at lunch, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and dinner, 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., for a donation of $3.50 for those ages 60 and up, and $7 cost for those under 60.

Food Giveaway Thurs.

A Pop Up Pantry Food Giveaway will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the old ACC East Campus Youth and Family Center, 801 W. Miller St. in Alpena. Bring bags, boxes or carts to carry food. This is first-come, first-served and there is a limited supply. This event is sponsored by Wolverine State Credit Union, Feed the Need Alpena and the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan.

Harvest dinner at First United Methodist

First United Methodist Church will host its harvest dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, for $12 per adult, $6 per child ages 5 to 12, and free for those under age 5. The meal includes turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, green beans, squash, tossed salad, dinner rolls and desserts. Pick up tickets at the church office or call Pat Major at 989-657-5561.

Alcona radio group to meet Thursday

The Alcona County Amateur Radio Group will hold a public meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the EMS/EOC building at 2600 East M-72. Anyone interested in Amateur Radio emergency and public service communications is invited. Call Stan Darmofal, W8SZ at 989-724-5550 or visit www.alconaradio.org.

Free healthy living program Thursday

The public is invited to a Healthy Happy Hour starting at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Alpena Salt Spa, 150 N. State Ave. in the Save-A-Lot plaza. All attendees will be entered into a drawing for several prizes. Drinks and protein bites will be offered, and attendees will learn about a 30-day healthy living program primarily focused on clean eating. This event is sponsored by Arbonne.

Hospital used book sale

MidMichigan Medical Center-Alpena volunteers host a used book sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday in the lobby.

Soup and sandwich dinner Friday at Grace

Art in the Loft classes this and next weekend

Kids and Cookies with Cookies by Hannah is from noon to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Art in the Loft. This class is for ages 5 and up, for $25 per student. Students will leave with a dozen of their own edible creations.

Cookie Decorating with Cookies by Hannah will be offered from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Art in the Loft. This class is for ages 13 and up, for $35 per student. Students will leave with a dozen of their own edible creations.

Canvas and Cuisine Holiday Kick-off for ages 5 and up is from 10 a.m. to noon on Friday, Nov. 29, for $25 per student.

Saturday Morning Art (smART) is from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, for $15, for ages 5 and up.

Ossineke harvest dinner

Ossineke United Methodist Church Harvest Dinner is from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, for $12 at the door for adults, $5 for children ages 5 to 12, and free for those under age 5. There will be a chicken dinner with all the trimmings, and a silent auction for holiday pies. Call 989-471-2334.

Meal in a Mug Sunday

Teens Meal in a Mug for ages 12 to 19 is 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Alpena County Library. Make a three-course meal with simple ingredients, a mug, and a microwave. Ingredients and materials will be provided.

AAACU pie sale to help R.E.A.C.H. program

Pies and other Thanksgiving baked goods will be for sale on Wednesday, Nov. 27, at the main branch of Alpena Alcona Area Credit Union at 1100 S. Morrell bell tolling on Sat.

A bell tolling ceremony for the Daniel J. Morrell will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Great Lakes Lore Maritime Museum, 367 N. 3rd St. in Rogers City. Admission is free.
