Artist reception Saturday

June Perry, first-place winner of the 2018 Juried Art Show at Besser Museum for Northeast Michigan, will be welcomed at a free public reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the museum. Her work will be on display in a solo exhibit Saturday through Oct. 31.

K of C breakfast Sunday

Alpena Knights of Columbus Council 529 will host a breakfast buffet from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday.

The menu will include potato pancakes, buttermilk pancakes, sausage, ham, French toast, fried potatoes, bread, rolls and beverages. The cost is $9 per adult and $4 per child ages 6 to 12, and free for ages 5 and younger. The Knights of Columbus Hall is located at 1880 Hamilton Rd., Alpena.

Art in the Loft classes

A print-making workshop is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Art in the Loft, taught by Executive Director Justin Christensen-Cooper. This class is for ages 15 and older, for $110 per person. Scholarships are available.

Creative Awakening Yoga and Art is from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Art in the Loft, taught by Paige Trisko (yoga) and Sarah Bedford (art). This class is for ages 15 and older, for $65 per student. Scholarships are available.

Hope’s Harvest Dinner

Hope’s Harvest Dinner is from 4 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14, at Hope Lutheran Church, 5462 W. Nicholson Hill Road, Hubbard Lake.

The menu features roast chicken and homemade meatballs, homemade stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, homegrown squash, cole slaw, fresh vegetable trays, homemade bread, pies and desserts.

Dine in air-conditioned comfort, or get your meal to go. Facility is wheelchair accessible.

The cost is $12 per adult, $5 per child ages 5 to 12, and free for those younger than age 5. The family rate is $30.
