Family and friends gathered Sept. 1 at the Ossineke home of Virginia O’Neil to celebrate her birthday. She turns 100 years old today.

The festivities included a full Polish menu, polkas, yard games and a special “pin the kisses on Grandma” game for the 80-plus guests.

Born in Alpena on Sept. 5, to Michael and Anna Skiba, Virginia had five brothers and four sisters.

Together with husband, John T. O’Neil, they had 11 children, 23 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
