Police: Man assaulted child in Onaway
An Alanson man has been charged with two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and one count of third-degree criminal sexual conduct after the Michigan State Police accused him of sexually assaulting a girl younger than 13 while he was living with her family in Onaway last year, the MSP said in a news release.
James Knapp has been arrainged in the 89th District Court and was lodged at the Presque Isle County Jail on a $200,000 cash bond.
The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services first alerted police of suspected assault in December.
