ALPENA — The News press crew has repaired The News’s press and the paper plans to print both the Tuesday, April 16, and Wednesday, April 17 editions tonight and deliver both papers on Wednesday.

Mechanical problems had prevented The News’s press crew from printing the Tuesday edition on time.

All of The News’ stories still were available at TheAlpenaNews.com and in the paper’s e-edition available online and through the All-Access app sold in the app stores for both Android and Apple smartphones and tablets.

Call the paper at 989-354-3111 with any questions.

Tuesday’s edition marked only the second time in the paper’s 125-year history that it’s missed an edition. It didn’t print once during a paper shortage in the 1950s.
