Hein, Juergens named to MHSFCA all-state teams
Two local football players were recently named to All-State teams by the Michigan High School Football Coaches Association for the 2020 season.
Atlanta running back Trace Juergens was named to the Division 2 8-Player team and Rogers City defensive back Isaac Hein was named to the Division 8 team.
Both players had outstanding season and were recently honored by The News.
Juergens was a do-it-all-back for the Huskies and was selected as The News’ Player of the Year for 8-Player football. Juergens also earned first-team North Star League honors while racking up more than 1,200 offensive yards and 13 touchdowns.
Hein was an All-Alpena News selection as his position and also earned first-team North Star League honors. For the Hurons, Hein recorded 39 tackles and had three interceptions.
