St. Ignace 21, Rogers City 20

ST. IGNACE–The Rogers City football team came up just short of victory on Friday, as a rally attempt fell short in a 21-20 loss to St. Ignace.

The Hurons (2-3) trailed 21-12 at halftime, but scored midway through the third quarter on a two-yard run by Austin Bielas to make it 21-18.

St. Ignace took a safety on fourth down near the end of the game to give the Hurons their final two points.

The Saints set the tone early, intercepting Rogers City’s first pass on the first play of the game and returning it for a touchdown.

The second quarter was all St. Ignace as the Saints scored midway through the period and then again right before halftime. Fortunately, for the Hurons they got an extra play to end the half and made the most of it was Isaac Hein found Newhouse for a 20-yard touchdown pass.
