∫ Chris DeRocher, Alpena
A two-time Alpena News Player of the Year and three-time Alpena News selection who was a four-year starter and graduated as Alpena’s all-time scoring leader, breaking a record that stood since 1972. Twice voted Alpena’s team MVP and Offensive MVP while averaging 23.4 points and 11.2 rebounds in his final two seasons.
∫ Mason VanPamel, Hillman
The 2015 Co-Alpena News Player of the Year and three time Alpena News selection. Helped Hillman win its first ever regional title as a senior in 2015 and put together one of the best seasons in program history with 25.1 points, six rebounds, 4.7 assists and 4.3 steals per game as a senior.
∫ Tyler Pintar, Alpena
The 2015 Co-Alpena News Player of the Year, who graduated in 2015 as Alpena’s No. 2 all-time scorer. A gifted athlete who’s numbers still rank among the best for season scoring average, points in a season and points in a game. Helped Alpena win back-to-back Big North titles and make back-to-back district final appearances in 2014 and 2015.
∫ Nick Hincka, Posen
A two-time Alpena News selection, who transitioned from being a talented sixth man to leading the Vikings as an upperclassman. Earned Class D all-state honors as a senior while leading the area in scoring with 24 points per game.
∫ Ben Lubitz, Mio
The 2016 Alpena News Player of the Year and two time Alpena News selection, who finished his career as one of Mio’s greatest players. A two-time Class D all-state selection, who finished his career with more than 2,000 points and led the area in scoring and rebounding as a senior with averages of 35.3 points and 12.3 rebounds per game.
