Posen wins big vs. Charlton Heston; Franklin, Alcona rout Hurons

POSEN-The Posen football team won against Charlton Heston on Friday 78-30.

Darren Dubie led Posen offensively, rushing for 317 yards on 19 carries and scoring four touchdowns. Dylan Schuch rushed for 137 yards on 12 carries and scored two touchdowns.

Andrew Hall and Mark Wisniewski added one touchdown each to the scoreboard.

Hall led Posen’s defense with ten tackles. Dubie was not far behind at eight. Schuch had seven tackles and three interceptions.

“It’s nice to be back in the winning column,” Posen football coach Greg Pietsch said. “It feels good.”

Posen hosts a double header against Rudyard. The junior varsity game starts at 4:30 p.m. and the varsity game will follow at 7 p.m.

Alcona 52,

Rogers City 6

LINCOLN-The Alcona football team was victorious against Rogers City on Friday, winning 52-6.

Brock Franklin led Alcona (2-1) offensively, rushing for 182 yards on 19 carries to score three touchdowns. Tim Hutchinson added 117 yards on 12 carries and three touchdowns. Dresden Parkinson was able to secure one touchdown for his team.

Cody Schram led Alcona’s defense with six tackles. Ray Betz helped out with five tackles and including a sack.

The Tigers forced three turnovers in the game with a fumble recovery by Franklin and interceptions by Parkinson and Dakota Oke.

Mio 34, Rogers City 12

ATLANTA- The Atlanta football team took a tough loss against Mio at home on Friday, losing 34-12.

Atlanta’s Austin Corbin led the Huskies offensively, throwing for 145 yards on 9-of-27 passing, including one touchdown pass. Bruce Lamorand had three catches for sixty yards. Reese Wood had two catches for 37 yards and one touchdown.

Mark DeRocher had eighteen carries for 48 yards for Atlanta while Dallas Robertson had two carries for 23 yards and one touchdown.

Defensively, Robertson led the team with twelve tackles, a sack, and a fumble recovery. Nick Byarski had nine tackles with a sack and a fumble recovery.

“We need to eliminate the turnovers for the next game,” Atlanta football coach Troy Cheedie said. “We need to work on taking advantage of opportunities that come our way.”

Atlanta (0-3) plays at Whittemore-Prescott on Friday at 7 p.m.

Au Gres 50,

Hillman 32

HILLMAN-The Hillman football team couldn’t keep pace with Au Gres on Friday and lost to the Wolverines 50-32.

Billy Kolcan led Hillman (0-3) with 201 yards on 20 carries and four touchdowns. Caine Hunt added 105 yards and a score on 20 carries.

Wyatt Barrie paced Hillman’s defense with 10 tackles and a sack.

VOLLEYBALL

Posen 3, Oscoda 0

OSCODA – The Posen volleyball team earned a road victory at Oscoda on Thursday, sweeping the Owls, 25-19, 25-22 and 25-23.

The Vikings were led by Adrianne Chojnacki who served 12 points in one set and collected 20 for the night. Samantha Lenard and Brooke Ciarkowski dished out 35 assists. Cami LaTulip added 10 kills and Brianna Kuffel chipped in with six in to help lead Posen to victory.
