The inconvenient truth on electric vehicles

Electric-powered vehicles can be up to 10 times more polluting than conventional vehicles.

If you are charging your electric vehicle using commercial power, it takes up to 10 times the gasoline equivalent in natural gas, oil, or coal to charge your electric vehicle. Thus, while you feel you are not polluting because no pollutants are coming out of your exhaust pipe, you are actually causing up to 10 times more pollutants at the power plant where most of our electricity comes from.

The only way an electric vehicle can be truly “green” is to charge your electric vehicle from your own solar, wind, or other non-polluting source.

So, to all you Kool-Aid drinking hypocrites: Thanks a lot for being a lot more polluting than the rest of us while self-righteously claiming that you are not polluting.
