Phillip Allen Wienczewski DDS, 83, of Presque Isle, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 28, 2022, at home. He was born in Alpena, Michigan July 26, 1939, to the late Dr. T.W. and Lucille Wienczewski. Phil graduated from Alpena Catholic Central 1956, Marquette University (Milwaukee) BA 1960, MS 1964, U of M DDS 1970, and Postgraduate Pathology at Harvard. He taught Biology at Elgin Community College and Histology and pre-med courses at Marquette University. Winnifred June Chrzan, age 87, of Alpena passed away peacefully on Aug. 21, 2022. Winnifred “Windy” was born on March 1, 1935 to the late Harvey and Beatrice (Taylor) Parris. On June 12, 1954 she married Eugene “Gene” Chrzan Sr. in Onaway Michigan. They were married for 64 wonderful years. Gene proceeded her in death on April 11, 2018. Winnifred was a Girl Scout Assistant leader for over 20 years and touched many lives and had many adventures. She was an accomplished baker and cake decorator for over 50 years. GERALD OLIVER EDWARDS

Gerald Oliver Edwards, 92, of Hillman passed away Friday, Aug. 26, 2022, at Davison Care Home. Gerald was born on Sept. 13, 1929, in Hillman to the late Clifford and Irene (Kincaid) Edwards. He served in the United States Army. On June 30, 1951, he married Leona McConnaughey. She preceded him in death on Sept. 6, 2002. Gerald retired from Abitibi Price in 1991. He was a lifelong member of Calvary Episcopal Church. Gerald was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed hunting, fishing, and took great pride in the family homestead.
