RICHARD ‘DICK’ BROWN

Richard ‘Dick’ Brown, a longtime Hillman resident, died peacefully on Aug. 18. Dick was born in Hillman in 1920 and graduated from Hillman in 1938. He was the last surviving member of his class. A WWII Army veteran, a Golden Gloves Welterweight Champion, and an outstanding athlete, he loved his Hillman Tigers and was found at most sporting events in Hillman. He was inducted into the Hillman Sports Hall of Fame and “The Richard Brown Trailblazers Award” was established in 2016. Donald “Pops” Chester Januchowski, 67, of Batesville, Arkansas passed away peacefully on August 25, 2022, after a long battle with cancer surrounded by family and laughter. ALLEN, Millard, 73, of Alpena, died Monday, Aug. 29, 2022, at MediLodge of Alpena. Millard is survived by four siblings, Walter, Joseph, David, and Lillian Eackright, and numerous nieces and nephews. Millard is at McWilliams Funeral Home where family will receive friends on Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2022, from 4-8 p.m. Visitation will resume on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. A full obituary will appear in a future edition of The Alpena News.
