Karen May Lancewicz, age 68, passed away on Aug. 28, 2022. Karen was born on February 9, 1954 in Alpena, Michigan to Darrell and Virginia Lancewicz. She graduated from Alpena High School and then attended Alpena Community College. She worked for the family business Lancewicz Refuse & Trucking Company and had her own daycare where she cared for children for over 10 years. Barbara Ann Mallette, 64, of Alpena, passed away at her home on Monday, Aug. 29, 2022. She was a loving, caring, and kind woman and will be dearly missed by those who knew her. Barbara was born on Aug. 11, 1958 to the late James Black and Esther Peplinski in Alpena. Growing up in a large family herself, Barbara knew the importance of family and developed valuable lessons on caring for others. She always put others before herself and was kind to everyone. Rhoda Mae McLeod, 91, of Alpena, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2022, at home. Rhoda Mae Clinard was born on Dec. 19, 1930, in Detroit to the late Cecil and Eduess (Otley) Clinard. On June 14, 1949, she married John McLeod. He preceded her in death on Aug. 14, 2000. Rhoda enjoyed bingo, reading, and watching old movies.
