Alpena radio station 105.7 The Bird expands ahead of schedule

Beginning Monday, Freddi Sparxx will be promoted at oldies station 105.7 the Bird from his Saturday time slot to a 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. show Monday through Friday.

Sparxx is known to many in the area for his years performing regionally with the band Dead By Monday. In addition to Sparxx moving to middays for his live show, the Bird was also able to secure another local talent in the area, Mike MD the Doctor Dodson, who will be live in the Bird studio Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. beginning Oct. 28.

Station Manager Kim Orr said: “We are thrilled with the station’s growth since its debut in January of this year.

“When we changed formats to oldies, we knew that it would be popular and well-received, filling a void that listeners in northern Michigan craved,” Orr added. “We are pleased that our business community and listeners have shared their support and appreciation for bringing this format to the area and that has allowed us to expand our team locally.”

Sparxx will join morning host Michael Knight and “Afternoon Drive” host Rich Nadeau on the Bird’s weekday lineup.
