HARRISVILLE — An Alcona County driver died when his vehicle overturned in a crash possibly related to alcohol and speed, police said on Friday.

Around 8 p.m. Wednesday, Harrisville Township resident Keith Thompson, 37, was northbound on Poor Farm Road in Haynes Township when his vehicle left the roadway, collided with a culvert, and turned over, trapping Thompson underneath, police said.

Thompson had died when police and medical responders arrived, the Alcona County Sheriff’s Office reported.

Police are still investigating the incident but say alcohol and speed may have played a part in the crash.
