SVSU honors locals

More than 1,800 students from Saginaw Valley State University earned a spot on the Winter 2021 semester Deans’ List.

To be eligible for the Deans’ List, a student must take at least 12 credit hours and carry a semester GPA of 3.4 or better.

Local students who earned a place on the dean’s list include: Eli J. Alexander of Alpena; Gabrielle V. Bourgeois of Alpena; Cassidy L. Cleary of Oscoda; Angelina H. Donnelly of Mio; Keilene R. Elmer of Lincoln; Jorge D. Freer of Harrisville; Bryan A. Jackson of Lewiston; Brooke E. Jones of Hillman; Haley A. Kowalski of Alpena; Cassie R. Lehman of Millersburg; Kyle J. May of Lewiston; Conner W. McCoy of Black River; Tasha M. Merillat of Mikado; Jerneigh A. Orso of Oscoda; Carley Powroznik of Oscoda; Ashley N. Shaw of Alpena; Abigail L. Thompson of Oscoda.

Kalamazoo College honors locals

More than 600 students were named to the spring 2021 Dean’s List at Kalamazoo College. Dean’s List recognition is earned with a grade point average of 3.5 or better.

The following local students made the list: Kaitlyn Schultz of Alpena and Samantha Lamrock of Oscoda.

Grant on dean’s list at RIT

Matthew Grant of Onaway was named to the Dean’s List at Rochester Institute of Technology for the 2021 Spring Semester. Grant is in the mechanical engineering program.

Boyk on engineering dean’s list at the University of Michigan

Hailey Boyk, of Alpena, was named to the University of Michigan’s College of Engineering Dean’s List for the fall 2020 and winter 2021 semesters. To achieve Dean’s List honors, a student must have completed at least 12 credit hours and earn a minimum 3.5 GPA.

Guenther named to Olivet dean’s list

Logan Guenther of Hubbard Lake was named to the Spring 2021 Dean’s List at Olivet College with a 3.87 grade point average. Logan is the son of Eric and Kirsten Guenther; he is studying Sports Recreation Management/Coaching and is a member of the Men’s Basketball program. Logan attended Alpena Community College 2018-2020 before transferring to Olivet College last year.
