ALPENA – The City of Alpena would like to remind all property owners and tenants of City

Ordinance requirements for grass cutting.

In the event that grass length is in excess of 8 inches for residential and commercial properties, or 12 inches for industrial properties, City Staff will make contact with each property by knocking on the door or leaving a door hanger; grass not cut within 5 days will be cut by the City’s contractor with expenses billed to the property owner.

To minimize clogging of the drainage system screens, please do not blow grass clippings into the street. Please also check property lines along abutting alleys to ensure all brush, weeds, or vegetation is trimmed to allow passage of vehicles.
