Two test positive for virus in Alpena County

ALPENA — Two new positive coronavirus tests were reported by local health officials among Alpena County residents today, with 47 new tests administered in the county, according to the state.

Of the 8,674 Northeast Michigan residents who have been tested, 197 have been positive for the virus, and 160 have recovered.

Statewide, 119,597 people have tested positive, of whom 90,216 have recovered as of Friday, and 6,700 have died after testing positive for the virus.

Northeast Michigan numbers updated today:

Positive tests: Alpena County residents, 126; Presque Isle County residents, 24; Montmorency County residents, 13; Alcona County residents, 34.

Deaths: Alpena County residents, 14; Presque Isle County residents, 1; Montmorency County residents, 0; Alcona County residents, 2.

Recoveries: Alpena County residents, 106; Presque Isle County residents, 19; Montmorency County residents, 11; Alcona County residents, 24.

Tests conducted: Alpena County residents, 3,022; Presque Isle County residents, 1,975; Montmorency County residents, 1,549; Alcona County residents, 2,128.
