Two positives not from Alpena County

ALPENA — Two people included in a previous count of Alpena County residents who tested positive for the coronavirus do not reside in the county, District Health Department No. 4 reported today.

Wednesday’s total of 120 positive tests among county residents was reduced to 118 today after the subtraction of two test results inaccurately assigned to Alpena County. One more Alpena County resident was reported recovered, for a total of 102 recoveries since March. Fourteen Alpena County residents have died after being infected with the virus.

A newly recovered Presque Isle County resident was reported, as well, for a total of 18 Presque Isle County residents recovered out of 19 who have tested positive. One Presque Isle County resident has died.

No changes were reported today among residents of Montmorency County — with 11 positive cases, seven recoveries, and no deaths — or Alcona County — with 30 cases, 22 recoveries, and two deaths.

Statewide, 104,395 people have tested positive — 685 of them newly reported today — and 76,151 have recovered as of Aug. 28. In all, 6,519 Michiganders have died while infected with the coronavirus.
