This van, shoved by violent winds coming ashore off Lake Huron on Friday evening, was sent for a spin on the stretch of U.S.-23 north of Rogers City. Straddling the bike path alongside the road, the van, as shown in this photo provided by the Presque Isle County Sheriff’s Department, came to rest at the very edge of the portion of the shore that has been washed away by high waters. Had the van gone another inch or two, it would have toppled over the cliff, and then “his next stop would have been Canada,” according to Sgt. Darin Rabeau of the Presque Isle County Sheriff’s Department, who was at the scene.
