Herrmann/Nowak

Wendy Herrmann and Mark Nowak exchanged their wedding vows Jan. 4, 2014 at St. Anne Catholic Church in Alpena. Father Richard Schaeffer officiated the 1 p.m. double-ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Glen and Nancy Herrmann of Alpena. The groom is the son of Jack and Debbie Nowak of Alpena.

Attending the bride as matron of honor was her sister, Amanda Swallow. Bridesmaids were Kayla Nowak, sister of the groom, and Melody Schultz, friend of the bride. Attending the groom as best man was his brother, Matt Nowak. Groomsmen were Joel Nowak, uncle of the groom, and Mike Pettit, friend of the groom. The ring bearer was Collin Wentworth, son of the bride. Ushers were Ben Maleport, friend of the bride and groom, and Keith Nowak, cousin of the groom.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in honor of the newlyweds at St. Anne Parish Center. The rehearsal dinner took place at Fletcher Street Brewing Co.

Wendy is a 2001 graduate of Alpena High School and graduated in 2009 from Colorado Tech University with a degree in nursing. She is employed by Autumn Leaves Memory Care as a nursing supervisor. Mark is a 2001 graduate of Alpena High School and a 2003 graduate of the Alpena Community College Concrete Technology Program. He is employed by QuiKrete as a regional quality control manager.

The couple will take a honeymoon trip to Alaska this summer. They currently reside in Cortland, Ill.
