Alpena County Library to host Tea with Claire

Anglophile, author, and journalist Claire Evans returns virtually to the Alpena County Library on Feb. 26 at 5:30 p.m. to present one of her newer talks about Yaupon Tea. Chamber dinner on Thursday

The Alpena Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting its annual banquet on Thursday at 5 p.m. at the Aplex in Alpena. This year's theme is "Parading Progress - A Night of Crowning Success" and there is a $40 per person fee. Duplicate Bridge results

The Alpena Duplicate Bridge Group met on Feb. 9th for a bridge competition among six partnership teams. For this week’s duplicate bridge session, 30 pre-dealt hands were played to see which teams played the hands best. This week’s winners are Carolyn Belton, who finished first and Judy Vivian with 38 points, followed bv Marge French and Linda Clegg who placed second with 33 points. Friends of Plaza Pool to host Euchre tournament Sunday

The Friends of Plaza Pool is hosting a Euchre tournament on Sunday at the Alpena Eagles Club. Doors to the event open at noon and the card playing will begin at 1 p.m. There is a $20 entry fee for each entry, plus a $1 entry for high game. There will also be a 50-50 drawing, door prizes, and food. Participants must be 18 years old or older to play. All of the proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Friends of Plaza Pool.
